Chinook Restaurant Manager

Duties include:
•To provide a memorable dining experience; which exceeds the guest’s expectations.
•To recruit, train and maintain an efficient team.
•Operate the Chinook and room service in an efficient and profitable manner.
•Keep food safe; assure proper handling, storage and rotation.
•Be familiar with and train staff on emergency, safety and security procedures (refer to in-house emergency procedures and WHMIS fact sheet).
•As a department head, contribute to the overall success of the Banff Park Lodge.
•Do all tasks, jobs and activities using the environmental mission statement as a guideline and be aware and report of opportunities for further waste reduction, water reduction and energy consumption, and composting.

Front Desk Supervisor

  • training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff

Duties include:

  • Provide superior customer service to arriving tour, conference and individual guests
  • Registering arrivals and departures of tours and hotel guests
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages and general information
  • Presenting billing for services and receiving payment; exchange foreign currency
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash and related forms.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 1 to 2 years previous hotel front desk or night audit experience
  • Is self-motivated and well-organized
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • Has experience working with Microsoft Office
