Human Resources Manager (18 Month Maternity Leave Coverage)

We are currently seeking a temporary full-time Human Resources Manager (18 Month Maternity Leave Coverage) to join our management team. Salary to be negotiated based on experience.

Duties Include:
• Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office (a team of two).
• Active participation in the recruitment process including recruitment strategies.
• Co-chair the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
• Develop, facilitate and co-ordinate internal and external training programs
• Oversee staff housing with Resident Managers
• Maintain all HR compliance, laws, and regulations.
• Oversee all HR related processes such as performance evaluation, progressive counseling, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Ideal Candidate:
• Diploma or Degree in business or human resources an asset, CHRP designation is preferred
• 3 - 5 years experience in a human resource position within a hospitality environment
• Must be highly organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain confidentiality, exercise patience, and perform well under pressure
• Demonstrate excellent computer skills


Sous Chef

Seeking one full-time, permanent Sous Chef, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The salary will be negotiated, based on experience.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Assist in creating a positive work environment to ensure all kitchen staff can meet or exceed all guests needs and expectations.
• Assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous-Chef in maximizing profit and minimize expenses by managing staff and being aware of food and labour cost budgets
• Assist in operating the kitchen in an efficient and financially responsible matter.
• Ensuring elegant and professional presentation and taste of food according to hotel standards
• Assist in inventory at the end of each month as required
• Ensuring recipes and standards are up to date for all Crave menu items

Ideal Candidate:
• Cook Trade certificate from a recognized educational institution
• Minimum of 2-3 years culinary experience in a supervising position preferably in a hotel environment
• Maintaining a professional appearance according to hotel standards at all time
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on occasion and up to 30 pounds regularly
• Must be able to work legally in Canada


Hotel Maintenance

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Hotel Maintenance, required to work day shifts, wage to be negotiated based on experience.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems
• Comfortable with light carpentry and painting drywall
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times with a commitment to working safely
• Empty recycling centres located on the staff housing grounds
• Complete colleague’s requests in a timely manner

Ideal Candidate:
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communications skills and follow up skills
• Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
• Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor
• Has excellent English skills and can follow direction
• Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or International Equivalent
• Clean drivers abstract.

Front Desk Supervisor

Seeking one full-time, permanent Front Desk Supervisor, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The wage will be negotiated based on experience.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• To create a positive environment, this ensures that all employees focus is towards meeting or exceeding guest satisfaction
• To operate the department in an efficient and financially responsible manner
• To be knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects to front desk, including hotel emergency, safety and security procedures and ensure that the hotel is safe and secure during each shift
• To be effective leader and have well developed communication and interpersonal skills and contribute to the overall success of the hotel
• To be pro-active in staff development through training and maintaining an effective, efficient blissful, and professional staff
• Ensure guest satisfaction is priority #1 among the front desk and the rest of the hotel
• Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner

Ideal Candidate:
• Minimum 1-2 years’ previous hotel front desk or reservation experience required
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset
• Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail

Relief Night Auditor

We are currently seeking one full-time, permanent Relief Night Auditor, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Ensure proper balancing of postings
• Completing End of Day process and completing all reporting functions
• Front desk and reservation duties as scheduled
• Implement and maintain all company policies and procedures

• Has 1 to 2 year previous hotel front desk or reservation experience
• Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail

Front Office Manager

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Front Office Manager to join our management team. Salary to be negotiated based on experience.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Create a positive working environment, ensuring the focus of all employees is towards exceeding our guest’s expectations
• Operate the department in an efficient and financially responsible manner
• Be knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of Front Desk, including the Hotel Emergency, Safety and Security procedures
• Be pro-active in staff development through training and maintaining an effective, efficient and professional staff
• Comfortable with troubleshooting hotel systems; appreciation of all things IT.

Ideal Candidate:
• 2 year diploma/degree from an accredited university in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism or related field
• 3 years of leadership experience in hotel operations, guest reception, or concierge
• Strong focus on exceptional customer service and experience with conflict resolution
• Working knowledge of Oracle/Opera hotel system preferred
• Previous customer service experience required
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills


Bell Desk Attendant

Seeking full-time, permanent Bell Desk Attendants, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Greeting guests with a high standard of customer service
• Working independently and in a team environment
• Providing a wealth of knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area
• Must have a valid class 5 drivers license for providing a valet service

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Take, cancel and change room reservations, process telephone calls
• Provide information on hotel facilities and services, provide general information and services required for guests with special needs
• Customer service oriented work with minimal supervision
• Clerical duties (i.e faxing, filing, photocopying)
• Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, communication, working with others and problem solving

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • High standard of customer service
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Night shifts include security for Banff Park Lodge and Bow View Lodge
