Demi-Chef de Partie

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Demi-Chef de Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
• Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
• Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
• Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

Ideal candidate:

• Reliable and can commit to at least 6 months
• Aspiring to become an apprentice
• One year of experience in a kitchen required, hotel restaurant cooking is an asset
• Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
• Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
• Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

Conference Services Manager

We are currently seeking one full-time, permanent Conference Services Manager required to work day shifts Monday - Friday. Wage to be negotiated based on experience. Schedule to change to four days a week during June-December 2017.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Maximize conference, event and catering revenue and profitability from guest rooms, function space, audio visual equipment, food and beverage
• Assist convenors and event planners with the planning, booking, and execution of their functions
• Providing assistance to the Director of Sales and Sales Managers

Ideal candidate:
• Minimum 2 year experience in hotel catering, additional experience in sales/hospitality required
• Extensive knowledge of hotel and catering software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel

Maintenance Worker

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Maintenance Worker, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays. Wage based on experience.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical systems
• Ensure comprehensive preventative maintenance program is effectively implemented and maintained
• Maintain the pools and whirlpools by ensuring a safe chemical balance through frequent testing
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times with a commitment to working safely
• Responding and addressing any staff accommodation concerns

Ideal Candidate:
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communications skills and follow up skills
• Experience in preventative maintenance, energy management, fire safety, and health and safety

Overnight Pool Cleaner

Seeking full-time, permanent Overnight Pool Cleaner, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties include:
• Sweep, mop and wash floors
• Dealing with chemicals
• Distribute clean towels and toiletries, stock linen closet
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
• Clean and disinfect elevators, pick up debris and empty trash containers
• Wash windows, walls and ceilings
• Maintaining the common area of pool, shower and change room
• Must be able to work overnight
• Training housekeeping staff
• Preparing work schedule and co-coordinating activities with other departments

The ideal candidate:

• Has previous housekeeping and supervisory experience
• Is physically fit and able to walk extensively
• Is able to communicate effectively and positively with staff under their supervision
• Has high standards and a keen attention to detail
• Is able to help clean rooms as needed to best ensure guest satisfaction

Chef De Partie

Seeking a full-time, permanent Chef De Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for a formal hotel dining room
• Estimate food requirements, prepare and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Instruct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques
• Plan menus, ensure quality of food and portion control and create new recipes
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff

Ideal Candidate:

• Cook trade certification required from a recognized vocational or technical college
• Three or more years’ experience in commercial cooking
• Fluent in English language (orally and written, and accurate numeracy)
• Working with others and supervising in a team environment
• Must be bondable
• Must possess good sense of taste, good health and stamina, excellent hand eye co-ordination, good math skills, good memory for details, and be artistic and have a creative talent
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and team building skills
• Must have excellent organizational skills and maintain a calm demeanour
