Sales Manager

​Duties:

  • Attend trade and travel shows to represent the Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge and Homestead Inn.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, telephone solicitation and on-site visits to establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Target new and corporate and meeting business by conducting FAM’S, business presentations, market research, competitive analysis and staying up-to-date on world travel trends and news.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel sales management experience with proven track record, established industry contacts and knowledge of marketplace
  • Works well under pressure
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook and Visual One)
  • Travel will be required, must have a valid driver’s license, own transportation and willing to work flexible hours


Second Cook

We are seeking a full-time permanent Second Cook, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
  • Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
  • Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
  • Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

Ideal candidate:

  • Reliable and can commit to at least 6 months
  • Aspiring to become an apprentice
  • Experience in a hotel restaurant cooking is an asset
  • Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
  • Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
  • Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people


Front Desk Supervisor

Seeking one full-time, permanent Front Desk Supervisor, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• To create a positive environment, this ensures that all employees focus is towards meeting or exceeding guest satisfaction
• To operate the department in an efficient and financially responsible manner
• To be knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects to front desk, including hotel emergency, safety and security procedures and ensure that the hotel is safe and secure during each shift
• To be effective leader and have well developed communication and interpersonal skills and contribute to the overall success of the hotel
• To be pro-active in staff development through training and maintaining an effective, efficient blissful, and professional staff
• Ensure guest satisfaction is priority #1 among the front desk and the rest of the hotel
• Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner

Ideal Candidate:
• Minimum 1-2 years’ previous hotel front desk or reservation experience required
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset
• Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
• Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone

Sous Chef

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory; Analyze operating costs and other data
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis including specialty foods, or for special guests or functions
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food; Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food

Ideal Candidate:
• Trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience of 5 years in food preparation required
• 3 years to less than 5 years of which 2 years of supervisory experience required


Evening House Person

We are seeking one full-time, permanent Housekeeping Evening House Person (3:30PM-12:00AM), required to work evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week. This position is available immediately.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Vacuum all the public space areas
• Clean all the public washrooms and staff café washrooms
• Mop the all granite and tile flooring
• Dust main lobby and second floor lobby, dust all pictures
• Wash store front windows, weekly
• Clean pool and bring down all the dirty towels to laundry and replace with clean towels from laundry

Ideal Candidate:
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds
• Must follow grooming standards
• Experience is an asset


Bow View Lodge Front Desk Agent

Seeking full-time, permanent Front Desk Agent for our sister property Bow View Lodge, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Take, cancel and change room reservations, process telephone calls
• Provide information on hotel facilities and services, provide general information and services required for guests with special needs
• Customer service oriented work with minimal supervision
• Clerical duties (i.e faxing, filing, photocopying)
• Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, communication, working with others and problem solving
• Decision making, critical thinking job task planning and organizing

We are currently seeking one full-time, permanent Bell Attendant, required to work night shifts (11PM-7AM), weekends and holidays under normal circumstances. The wage will be negotiated based on experience for 32-40 hours per week.

  • High standard of customer service
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license

La Terrazza Ristorante and Lounge Manager

Duties include:

• To provide a memorable dining experience; which exceeds the guest’s expectations.
• To recruit, train and maintain an efficient team.
• Operate La Terrazza and room service in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Keep food safe; assure proper handling, storage and rotation.
• Be familiar with and train staff on emergency, safety and security procedures (refer to in-house emergency procedures and WHMIS fact sheet).
• As a department head, contribute to the overall success of the Banff Park Lodge.
• Do all tasks, jobs and activities using the environmental mission statement as a guideline and be aware and report of opportunities for further waste reduction, water reduction and energy consumption, and composting.

The ideal candidate
• 3-5 years of experience in the same environment.
• Bartender/mixology certification is an asset
• Food Safe, Pro-Serve, First Aid and WHMIS certification required
• Able to work under pressure with deadlines.
• Multitask projects with deadlines.


Pastry Cook

We are seeking a full-time permanent Pastry Cook, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare, cook and service all pastry items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous experience in the culinary field required.

Housekeeping Room Attendant

Seeking a full-time, permanent Room Attendant, required to work day shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Sweep, mop and wash floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, make beds and change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries
• Stock linen closet, clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, handle and report lost and found items, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies
• Provide basic information on facilities, pick up debris and empty trash containers, wash windows, walls and ceilings
• Physically able to carry out the demands of the position including pushing, pulling, bending, and heavy lifting for long periods of time
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Chef De Partie

Seeking a full-time, permanent Chef De Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for a formal hotel dining room
• Estimate food requirements, prepare and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Instruct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques
• Plan menus, ensure quality of food and portion control and create new recipes
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff

Ideal Candidate:
• Cook trade certification required from a recognized vocational or technical college
• Three or more years’ experience in commercial cooking
• Fluent in English language (orally and written, and accurate numeracy)
• Working with others and supervising in a team environment
• Must be bondable
• Must possess good sense of taste, good health and stamina, excellent hand eye co-ordination, good math skills, good memory for details, and be artistic and have a creative talent
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and team building skills
• Must have excellent organizational skills and maintain a calm demeanour
