Demi-Chef de Partie

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Demi-Chef de Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
• Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
• Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
• Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

Ideal candidate:

• Reliable and can commit to at least 6 months
• Aspiring to become an apprentice
• One year of experience in a kitchen required, hotel restaurant cooking is an asset
• Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
• Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
• Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

Reservations Agent

We are currently seeking one full-time, permanent Reservation Agent, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays starting in October. Wage is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Take, cancel and change room reservations, process telephone calls
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services, provide general information about services required for guests with special needs
  • Customer service oriented, work with minimal supervision
  • Clerical duties (i.e faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, communication, working with other, problem solving
  • Decision making, critical thinking job task planning and organizing.
  • Provide assistance to the Front Desk Agents as needed.

Ideal candidate:

  • Has 1 to 2 year previous hotel front desk or reservation experience
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • Has experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience with Extranets is an asset

Assistant Catering Manager

Seeking one full-time, permanent Assistant Catering Manager, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Lead and manage the Banquet team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
• Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
• Train colleagues and supervisors in the absence of a trainer
• Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
• Contribute to departmental meetings
• Review all banquet event orders to ensure proper set-ups, coffee breaks and meals are in place
• Work with the Conference Services & Catering department to ensure that revenues and guest satisfaction levels are maximized
• Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Banquet colleagues in accordance to productivity guidelines
• Follow all policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate:

• Flexible schedule required.
• To work with fellow Banquet servers and management team.
• Must be physically cable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Chef De Partie

Seeking a full-time, permanent Chef De Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for a formal hotel dining room
• Estimate food requirements, prepare and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Instruct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques
• Plan menus, ensure quality of food and portion control and create new recipes
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff

Ideal Candidate:
• Cook trade certification required from a recognized vocational or technical college
• Three or more years’ experience in commercial cooking
• Fluent in English language (orally and written, and accurate numeracy)
• Working with others and supervising in a team environment
• Must be bondable
• Must possess good sense of taste, good health and stamina, excellent hand eye co-ordination, good math skills, good memory for details, and be artistic and have a creative talent
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and team building skills
• Must have excellent organizational skills and maintain a calm demeanour
