Human Resources/Staff Housing Coordinator

Here at the Banff Park Lodge, we offer exciting employment opportunities and a unique Rocky Mountain lifestyle for all of our Colleagues. Reporting to the Human Resources manager, this role combines the opportunity to showcase your interpersonal and team-building strengths as Human Resources Coordinator while ensuring the smooth, efficient operation and cleanliness of all staff housing units as the Staff Housing Attendant.

Summary of Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
•Provide assistance in all phases of the recruiting process: posting positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, completing reference and background checks, making job offers, and processing all new hire paperwork.
•Assist the Human Resources Manager with the Foreign Worker Program.
•Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
•Supporting supervisors and managers responsible for hiring regarding the hotel’s recruitment policies and standards.
•Maintain confidential filling system for correspondence, policies, standards, regulations and various matters related to the office.
•Assisting in the daily administration and coordination of all activities in the HR department.
•Assist the Human Resources Manager with the implementation and facilitation of Orientation and other Colleague training.
•Maintain compliance to the BPL Standards, as well as the Provincial and Federal law.
•Maintenance of various websites and HRIM systems.
•Assist with exit interviews and complete all termination paperwork as required.
•Chair the Social Committee and participate in other staff events.
•Welcome new Colleagues and escort to room explaining about living environment and surroundings.
•Maintain a record of Colleagues in staff accommodations, following up on Colleague requests in a timely manner, ensuring the rooms are clean when an employee moves out.
•Monthly staff accommodation inspections reporting on all concerns and following up.
•Ensuring all employees are aware of the rules of Staff Accommodation and abide by them providing discipline if required.
•Assist with other Human Resources functions and tasks as required
•Ecommerce savvy

Qualifications:
•Previous Human Resources experience preferred
•Previous Property Management experience an asset
•Prior experience in the hospitality preferred
•Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a definite team player
•Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
•Must have a valid class 5 Alberta drivers licence

Front Desk Supervisor

First Cook

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the First Cook will be responsible for daily meal preparation for a la carte, buffet, and conference meal service.

Duties include:

Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

The ideal candidate:

Has Cook’s Apprenticeship certification or equivalent experience
Has at least two years experience in hotel restaurant cooking
Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

Chef de Partie

Front Desk Agent

Duties include:

  • Provide superior customer service to arriving tour, conference and individual guests
  • Registering arrivals and departures of tours and hotel guests
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages and general information
  • Presenting billing for services and receiving payment; exchange foreign currency
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash and related forms.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 1 to 2 years previous hotel front desk or night audit experience
  • Is self-motivated and well-organized
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • Has experience working with Microsoft Office
