Sales Manager

​We are seeking a full-time permanent Sales Manager. The salary for this position is based on experience, 40 hours per week with some travel required.

Duties:

  • Attend trade and travel shows to represent the Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge and Homestead Inn.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, telephone solicitation and on-site visits to establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Target new corporate and meeting business by conducting FAM’S, business presentations, market research, competitive analysis and staying up-to-date on world travel trends and news.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel sales management experience with proven track record, established industry contacts and knowledge of marketplace
  • Works well under pressure
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook and Visual One)
  • Travel will be required, must have a valid driver’s license, own transportation and willing to work flexible hours

La Terraza Bartender

Seeking full-time, permanent Bartenders. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to provide memorable dining experiences, exceeding our guests’ expectations
  • To have full knowledge of all food and beverage menus in the Terrace and all other special promotions in the hotel
  • Assist guests regarding all beverage menu item in an informative and helpful way
  • Serve, clear and re-set tables in a timely manner and assist with in room dining orders
  • Mix drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelines
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked environment for our guests
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
  • Operate all equipment used in the Terrace in a safe and proper manner
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages

  • Previous Bartending experience preferred
  • Previous Fine Dining Food & Beverage experience is an asset

First Cook

We are seeking a full-time permanent First Cook, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
• Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
• Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
• Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

Ideal candidate:

• Reliable and can commit to at least 6 months
• Aspiring to become an apprentice
• One year of experience in a kitchen required, hotel restaurant cooking is an asset
• Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
• Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
• Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people


Bow View Lodge Room Attendant

Seeking a full-time, permanent Room Attendant, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience, for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Sweep, mop and wash floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, make beds and change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries
• Stock linen closet, clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, handle and report lost and found items, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies
• Provide basic information on facilities, pick up debris and empty trash containers, wash windows, walls and ceilings
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Ideal Candidate:
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds
• Must follow grooming standards
• Experience is an asset


Banquet Server (start date end of September)

We are currently seeking full-time Banquet Servers, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime hours. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food & beverage service
• Work as part of a team to provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting set ups and all meal functions
• Demonstrate professional and positive image to guests and colleagues at all times
• Effectively handle guest concerns through empowerment, and report any irregularities to management
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment at all times
• Report any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet Supervisors
• Ensure the equipment and all work areas are maintained to hotel standard • Properly stock all convention equipment in appropriate stores as per the hotel standards
• Participation in departmental meetings, inter departmental meetings, shift line ups and incentive programs
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program

La Terrazza Ristorante and Lounge Manager

We are seeking a full-time permanent La Terrazza Restaurant Manager, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The salary for this position is based on experience.

Duties include:

• To provide a memorable dining experience; which exceeds the guest’s expectations.
• To recruit, train and maintain an efficient team.
• Operate La Terrazza and room service in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Keep food safe; assure proper handling, storage and rotation.
• Be familiar with and train staff on emergency, safety and security procedures (refer to in-house emergency procedures and WHMIS fact sheet).
• As a department head, contribute to the overall success of the Banff Park Lodge.

• 3-5 years of experience in the same environment.
• Bartender/mixology certification is an asset

Front Desk Agent

Seeking full-time, permanent Front Desk Agents, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The wage will be negotiated based on experience per hour for 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Take, cancel and change room reservations, process telephone calls
• Provide information on hotel facilities and services, provide general information and services required for guests with special needs
• Customer service oriented work with minimal supervision
• Clerical duties (i.e faxing, filing, photocopying)

Chef De Partie

Seeking a full-time, permanent Chef De Partie, required to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays with opportunities for overtime. The salary for this position is based on experience, 32-40 hours per week.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for a formal hotel dining room
• Estimate food requirements, prepare and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Instruct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques
• Plan menus, ensure quality of food and portion control and create new recipes
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff

Ideal Candidate:
• Cook trade certification required from a recognized vocational or technical college
• Three or more years’ experience in commercial cooking
• Fluent in English language (orally and written, and accurate numeracy)
• Working with others and supervising in a team environment
• Must be bondable
• Must possess good sense of taste, good health and stamina, excellent hand eye co-ordination, good math skills, good memory for details, and be artistic and have a creative talent
