Pastry Cook

Duties include

  • Prepare, cook and service all pastry items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Human Resource Manager

An opportunity for a career “People Person” is available to join our management team in this expanding hospitality company with 150 employees in a very dynamic international market.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment, selection and retention of hospitality staff and management in co-operation with Department Heads, including the advertising of positions and distribution of incoming applications/resumes.
  • Oversee the Hotel Employee relations, policies and procedures
  • Acting as resource contact and support for Staff and Department Heads
  • Hands on involvement with the New Employee hiring process as well as the termination process for exiting Employees
  • Managing staff housing and property leasing for approx. 100 tenants, and enforcement of housing regulations and standards.
  • Administration of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program
  • Striving to reduce Employee turnover rates.

The Successful candidate will bring the following qualifications:

  • Experience in dealing with a diverse mix of Employees from various backgrounds, with an open mind and respecting company values
  • Able to communicate expectations, and enforce compliance fairly
  • Previous H/R experience and related educational background
  • CHRP designation is a definite asset
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills, familiar with benefit programs
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta employment standards, occupational health and safety
  • Temporary Foreign Workers program and WCB

Front Desk Agent- Night Auditor

Duties include:

  • Must be able to work overnights
  • Balance the hotel
  • Provide superior customer service to arriving tour, conference and individual guests
  • Registering arrivals and departures of tours and hotel guests
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages and general information
  • Presenting billing for services and receiving payment; exchange foreign currency
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash and related forms.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 1 to 2 years previous hotel front desk or night audit experience
  • Is self-motivated and well-organized
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • Has experience working with Microsoft Office
