Building Operator

 

The Building Operator is responsible for general maintenance of guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds including:

 

  • Pool service and repair
  • Minor plumbing and electrical 
  • HVAC preventative maintenance
  • Some grounds-keeping

 

The ideal candidate:

 

  • Holds a clean Class 5 driver's license
  • Is physically fit and mechanically inclined
  • Has a good working knowledge of repairs and maintenance in a hotel environment
  • Has good communication skills
  • Can make quick independent decisions and requires minimal supervision

 A trade apprenticeship is an asset for this position.

 
First Cook (1 Full Time  / 1 Part Time Evening)

 

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the First Cook will be responsible for daily meal preparation for a la carte, buffet, and conference meal service.

Duties include:

  • Ensuring that food is properly stored and handled at all times
  • Ensuring that the quality and quantity of food prepared meets hotel standards
  • Managing a clean, sanitized work station during and at the end of shift
  • Ensuring that food waste and spoilage are kept to a minimum

The ideal candidate:

  • Has Cook’s Apprenticeship certification or equivalent experience
  • Has at least two years experience in hotel restaurant cooking
  • Prepares high quality food and follows superior sanitation standards
  • Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time
  • Is a team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

Hotel Front Desk Clerk

Duties include:

  • Provide superior customer service to our arriving tour, conference and individual guests
  • Registering arrivals and departures of tours and hotel guests
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages, and general information about the hotel and local points of interest
  • Presenting billing for services and receiving payment; exchange foreign currency
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash and related forms
  • Follow emergency safety procedures of the hotel 

The ideal candidate:

 
Has 1 to 2 years previous hotel front desk or reservation experience
  • Is self-motivated and well-organized
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • Has experience working with Microsoft Office

We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Hotel Maintenance Worker to assist the Building Operator and Maintenance Manager with the general maintenance of guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel grounds.

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Is physically fit and mechanically inclined
  • Holds a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Has previous building maintenance experience

Duties include:

  • Overseeing and enhancing the day-to-day operation of a 144 seat all-day family restaurant

  • Has a minimum of 3 years food and beverage experience, with previous food and beverage supervisory experience required

Duties include:

  • Provide superior customer service to our arriving tour, conference and individual guests
  • Submit cash and balance sheets; process cash reports and related forms for accounting; complete the Night Audit process
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages, and general information about the hotel and local points of interest
  • Presenting billing for services and receiving payment; exchange foreign currency; prepare accounts receiveable for departing tours
  • Follow emergency safety procedures of the hotel; process wake up calls; work with minimal supervision 

The ideal candidate:

 
Has 1 to 2 years previous hotel front desk or reservation experience; night auditor experience is a must
  • Is self-motivated and well-organized
  • Is a capable multi-tasker with a keen attention to detail
  • Has a professional, yet friendly, personality and demeanor in person and over the telephone
  • Has excellent English comprehension and communication skills; a second language is an asset as we welcome many international guests
  • The right candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule which will include four night audit shifts per ten day work cycle
