Highway 93 Road Closure - Jasper Evacuation

The Municipality of Jasper and Jasper National Park have issued a Wildfire alert.  here is a wildfire south of town. An Evacuation Order has been issued for the Town of Jasper and Jasper National Park.

Everyone in Jasper and Jasper National Park must evacuate now
The fire is coming towards to and is expected to reach the community in 5 hours
Please drive safe
Use Highway 16 towards British Columbia
Follow directions from local authorities
Bring identification, important documents, medication, pets and your emergency kit with you
Check the Municipality of Jasper and Jasper National Park’s Facebook page and website for more information
If you need a ride, go to the Activity Centre, Forest Park Hotel or Maligne Lodge.

Water has been turned back on by the town of Banff.

Due to unexpected complications with the ongoing water main repair near our facility, we have had to temporarily shut down our water supply. We are actively working with the Town of Banff’s repair teams to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible.

Impact on Services:

  • All water-related services within Banff Park Lodge are currently suspended, including bathrooms, kitchen facilities, and spa services.

Important Update on Local Water Main Repairs

We wish to inform our guests of ongoing developments regarding the water main break near the Banff Park Lodge.

Road Closure Alert: Bow Avenue is currently closed to traffic between Caribou and Wolf Street due to necessary repair work at the intersection of Bow Avenue and Wolf Street. Please note that access to the Canoe Docks parking lot is also unavailable, and Wolf Street is closed at the alley.

Excavation Work Schedule: Repair crews are scheduled to begin excavation work on Wednesday, April 17, starting at 8:30 a.m. This may impact the water service at Banff Park Lodge and the adjacent Banff Health Unit building. Although the teams will make every effort to maintain water service, some limitations may be necessary to ensure the repairs are completed safely and effectively.

No Estimated Time for Road Reopening: At this moment, there is no definitive timeline for when the road will be reopened. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

We have received an update from the Town of Banff’s Water Works Department regarding the ongoing water main repair near our location.

The repair is scheduled to begin tomorrow, and efforts will be made to ensure that the water supply to Banff Park Lodge remains uninterrupted. While the current plan does not involve stopping our water service, we are prepared for the possibility of brief disruptions if necessary.

The worst-case scenario may require a temporary and indefinite shutdown of our water supply to safely complete the repairs. Rest assured, we will receive continuous updates on the progress and will share new information with you promptly.Additionally, the Town of Banff has assured us that they can adjust the water pressure for our lodge if any issues arise.

We thank you for your understanding as we work closely with local authorities to manage this situation with minimal impact on your stay.

There has been a water main break on Bow Avenue, a short distance from our location. Currently, our water supply is operational. However, we anticipate potential interruptions or changes in water pressure as repairs commence today and may continue into tomorrow.

Please be assured that we are in close communication with the Town of Banff authorities to receive updates and manage the situation promptly. Our goal is to keep any inconvenience to a minimum and maintain your comfort throughout your stay.
