Our renovations are progressing steadily, with 189 rooms fully completed and 22 more nearing completion. The final phase of room renovations began on January 6, 2025, and we expect all 211 rooms to be finished by mid-May.

Some of our guestrooms will have no elevator access during this period. All guestrooms can be accessed through inside hallways and stairwells

Our Refresh Timeline at a Glance

🛏️ Phase 1: Guestroom Refresh (Nearing Completion)

Our journey began with a complete renovation of our guestroom experience. This includes new finishes, modern amenities, updated furniture, and added in-room comforts — all designed with you in mind.

While most guestrooms are already complete and in use, a small number remain under renovation. Phase 1 is expected to wrap up fully by mid-May 2025.

Crafting Our Future: Phase 2 Public Space Renovations

🔹 June 5 – Late October 2025: Crave Mountain Grill Renovation

  • Crave Restaurant will temporarily close.
  • Breakfast service continues à la carte in Terrace Lounge and La Terrazza.
  • Buffet breakfast will return once Crave reopens in late October 2025.

🔹 Late June – October 2025: Main Arcade and Meeting Room Closures

  • Construction begins in the arcade between the Black Bear side entrance and La Terrazza restaurant.
  • Temporarily closed: hallway, main-level public washrooms, Black Bear meeting room, and The Den boardroom.
  • Public washrooms will be available on the second floor, near the conference center.

🔹 October 2025 – January 2026: La Terrazza & Arcade Elevator Lobby

  • After Crave reopens, renovations shift to La Terrazza restaurant and the arcade leading to the Cascade Wing elevators and lobby.
  • Dinner service will be relocated to Crave Mountain Grill.
  • Completion is expected by January 2026.

🔹Late March – Summer 2026: Main Lobby Transformation

  • Following a short break in February, we’ll begin transforming the main lobby, front desk, bell desk, and ski & bike storage.
  • Our brand-new Café also begins to take shape.
  • During this time, our arcade hallway becomes the temporary front desk.
  • Guests are encouraged to use contactless check-in and digital keys for a smoother arrival.

🔹 June – Late Summer 2026: Conference Level Enhancements

  • Final Phase 2 work includes renovation of our second-floor conference spaces and public washrooms.

🔮 Looking Ahead: Phase 3 Exterior Refresh (Summer 2027)

Our refresh journey doesn’t end here. Phase 3 is currently in the planning stages and is expected to continue into summer 2027. We’ll share more details as this next chapter takes shape.

Essential Information

Yes, our hotel will remain open and fully operational during the renovation period. We’re dedicated to ensuring a comfortable stay with minimal disruption.

Most construction noise is limited to hours of work from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Banff Park Lodge is working closely with the construction team to minimize disruptions outside of these hours, although occasional disturbances may occur in evenings and during the weekends.

Some construction noise is expected during work hours, but we are taking extensive measures to reduce any potential disturbance.

Absolutely, we will make every effort to accommodate your room location preferences. Please indicate your request when booking.

Yes. Laundry facilities are currently closed. Some of our rooms have no elevator access until May 9, 2025. All guestrooms can be accessed through inside hallways and stairwells

Some public spaces and amenities will be temporarily closed at various times during our Phase 2 renovations from June 2025 through Summer 2026. We’re doing our best to minimize disruptions and keep alternative options available.

Here’s what to expect:

  • June 5, 2025, to late October 2025:

    • Crave Mountain Grill will be closed.

    • Breakfast service will be relocated to Terrace Lounge and La Terrazza (à la carte only, no buffet).

  • Late June to October 2025:

    • Main-level hallway and public washrooms (near La Terrazza) will be closed.

    • Black Bear meeting room and The Den boardroom will not be available.

    • Alternate washrooms will be available on the 2nd floor.

  • Late October 2025 to January 2026:

    • La Terrazza restaurant will be closed for renovation.

    • Dinner service will be relocated to Crave Mountain Grill.

    • Construction will continue along the arcade near the lobby.

  • Late March to Summer 2026:

    • Our main lobby, front desk, bell desk, ski & bike storage areas will undergo renovation.

    • A temporary front desk will be located in the arcade hallway.

    • Contactless check-in and digital key use are encouraged.

  • June to Summer 2026:

    • Conference rooms and public washrooms on the 2nd floor will be closed for renovation.

Some of our rooms will have no elevator access. All guestrooms can be accessed through inside hallways and stairwells. These accessibility changes are clearly signposted around the property and communicated to you through pre-arrival emails, and this webpage.

While parking generally remains unchanged during the renovations, we’d like to highlight that our oversized vehicle parking will be very limited. Due to the presence of construction vehicles, we cannot guarantee that oversized parking spots will always be available. We recommend planning your visit accordingly to ensure a smooth experience. 

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period.

The safety of our guests and staff is our highest priority. All renovation work is sectioned off and carried out in strict adherence to safety protocols.

Our health and wellness facilities, including the pool, hot tub, steam room, and gym, will continue to operate as usual. A closure of our pool is expected between October 2025 and January 2026 to allow for renovation at the pool entrance. Exact duration and timing of this closure is not yet known.

Any further changes will be communicated in advance.

For most of your stay, the check-in and check-out process will remain the same.

  • During Phase 1 (guestroom renovations), there are no changes to check-in or check-out.

  • During Phase 2 (public space renovations), we will temporarily relocate our front desk during the main lobby renovation from late March to Summer 2026. A temporary front desk will be set up in our arcade hallway to assist guests.

Regardless of the renovation phase, we always encourage contactless check-in and the use of digital keys for a faster and more convenient arrival experience. You can skip the line and head straight to your room — it’s simple, secure, and stress-free!

Yes, some of our dining venues will be temporarily affected during Phase 2 of our refresh project (June 2025 – Summer 2026). Here’s what to expect:

  • Crave Mountain Grill will be closed from June 5 to late October 2025 for a full renovation.

    • During this time, breakfast will be served à la carte in Terrace Lounge and La Terrazza.

    • Please note: buffet breakfast will not be available until Crave reopens.

  • La Terrazza restaurant will close for renovations from late October 2025 to January 2026.

    • Dinner service will be relocated to Crave Mountain Grill.

All other dining services will continue as usual outside of these scheduled closures, and we’ll ensure clear signage and support during transitions. We appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance your future dining experience!
